Management Consulting Career Path
Consultants
Consultants take responsibility for
addressing specific aspects of a client engagement. They play a key
role in data gathering, contribute to the team's final
recommendations, and presenting their work to senior client
executives.
Senior Consultants
Senior Consultants take an
active role in all stages of an assignment – from identifying
issues and developing action plans, to planning and conducting
interviews and analyses, synthesizing conclusions into
recommendations along with client teams, and implementing
solutions.
Managers & Senior Managers
Managers
and Senior Managers work on multiple engagements,
supervising teams of Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Managers,
and are involved in business development. They are involved in
decision-making at the office and practice level. They also continue
to develop in-depth expertise in practice areas.
Directors
Directors provide a superior ability to lead and inspire
consulting teams, manage every phase of an engagement, coach and
mentor colleagues, and contribute to knowledge. Directors
manage a number of assignments across multiple
clients.
Technology
Consulting Career Path
Business Analyst
Business analysts take responsibility for addressing specific
aspects of a client engagement. They play a key role in data
gathering, contribute to the team's final recommendations, and
present their work to senior client executives. Business Analysts
with Technical Qualifications could grow in the Development Stream
and become Software engineers, Project Leaders, Project managers and
eventually Engagement Directors.
Team members
Team members play a role as an active team member from
identifying issues and developing action plans, planning,
analyzing and implementing solutions.
Team members are exposed to various technologies including
implementing ERP packages like Oracle in our Oracle implementing
practice.
Project Leader
Project Leaders provide technical
support on various projects to team members. They have the
opportunity to manage teams as well as interact with the client
team members.
Project Manager
Project
Manager provide a superior ability to lead and

Directors manage specific functional areas, geographies or
technologies. They build relationships with clients, plan and
pursue strategy, and manage Project

roles. Directors divide their time between client and
knowledge-building work, project management, and business
development.
