Article I : Trianz leverages Oracle BPEL-PM solution to deliver immediate and measurable results at Silicon Image.
Trianz recently implemented a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution at California-based Silicon Image, Inc. (www.siliconimage.com) that enables the corporation to automatically synchronize product and pricing data between Oracle Applications and Pivotal CRM by leveraging Oracle's Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) technology.
Implementation of the solution has enabled Silicon Image to:
- Enhance data synchronization between their Pivotal CRM and Oracle 11i applications.
- Lower manual effort involved in data entry as well as reduce data-entry errors
- Gain greater process visibility and consistency to address Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Provide their Sales and Customer Service teams with real-time access to data and information that's critical for order processing.

Article II : Trianz helps Symetricom manage made-to-order manufacturing model through Oracle Configurator.
Symmetricom's telecommunication product structures are highly complex. Without a product configurator software application in place, sales teams in their Telecom Solutions Division found themselves unable to capture customer's exact requirements as input and then generate a configured product precisely matching the customer's specific needs. Often they ended up with product configurations that were not in fully in sync with customer requirements. That apart, their customer-care teams were taking too long booking sales orders as they needed to generate and update multiple standard bills of materials and were handicapped in executing this task for want of adequate-and correct data -- from Sales. These issues impacted Symmetricom's planning and manufacturing operations as well.
After considering various solution options, Symmetricom decided to implement the Oracle Configurator standalone solution, but limiting its application - under Phase I of the project -- to one of its complex telecom products: the SSU-2000. The SSU-2000 is an intelligent, fully manageable synchronization supply unit used for telecom network operators to generate and distribute synchronization signals for advanced network services.
Symmetricom chose Trianz to implement the solution as the firm's Enterprise Application Services (EAS) has deep expertise in enterprise application solutions, particularly Oracle and Siebel, with capability to offer solutions using an integrated approach - from business consulting through post-implementation support, leveraging a proven global delivery model. Trianz had previously implemented several Oracle applications at Symmetricom, establishing in the process a strong relationship with the company. More importantly, with Symmetricom already using Oracle E-Business Suite to support its enterprise processes, leveraging the existing infrastructure for the Oracle Configuration application was considered both an appropriate - and natural - approach to take.

Business Results
- Improved the upstream ordering process, eliminating problems - as for instance, missing/invalid parts getting ordered -- that often were only identified downstream in manufacturing.
- Provided a "single source of truth" for SSU-2000 product validation, eliminating the need for product-specific training.
- The flexible interface provided for product configuration, has enabled advanced sales users to use the advanced interface and new users the simpler interface, thereby improving the productivity of either user.
- Product configurations could be saved and searched without having to search the same configuration over and over again - a capability customized for Symmetricom's specific requirement.
- Enablement of customized configuration outputs, in both Rich Text and PDF formats, has facilitated ease of use. Leveraging of the XML output feature provides options for future scalability.

ClientSpeak "Our goal with the first phase of our Oracle Configurator project was to simplify the sales, quote and order processes for our SSU2000 product line. With Trianz as our partner we were able to model a complex product and provide internal users a tool with a familiar Oracle Self-Service look and feel. The consulting team from Trianz had a deep knowledge of the Configurator product and came up with some creative, outside-the-box, solutions to our complex requirements. Future phases of our Configurator project will include modeling additional product lines, expanding usage out to our customers and integrating the Configurator into our supply chain planning and execution processes. Trianz will continue to be a trusted partner through these future phases." -- Kevin Brown, Manager-Enterprise Applications, Symmetricom, Inc.
